Virtually all these dogs are result of being dumped on highways, or remote country road. Abandoned in public parks, empty houses and dark alleys. The large population of stray dogs that are left unmedicated and non-vaccinated pose a great threat to both human and other dog lives. Every year a large population of humans too are supposed to have died of rabies due to stray dog bites and attacks and other similar diseases which spread via these dogs.
The Pooch Foundation is a non profitable organization whose sole purpose is to rescue stray dogs, provide necessary medical attention, restore them to health, neuter and spay them and place them in loving adoptive homes. Our ultimate goal being complete removal of innocent stray dogs from the roads to kind dog loving homes and control and prevent spread of diseases.
This foundation is still at very premature state and in the process of evolving. Work plans are being set out to establish a proper dog shelter to provide temporary shelter for stray dogs until they are being re-homed, adjoining to which is an Animal Hospital that can provide the dogs in the shelter with necessary medical attention and is also open to the public for their pet's treatment.
